BEST PRACTICES & GUIDELINES

In order to provide a fun, safe, and memorable experience for all of our guests, we ask that you read and adhere to the following guidelines for responsible wine tasting:

RESPONSIBLE WINE TASTING

On behalf of all participating wineries, we request that you please taste responsibly.

  • By law, absolutely no outside alcohol is allowed on the property of any Lodi winery at any time, including during Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend. If you choose to show up at a participating winery with outside alcohol, your entire group may be asked to leave.
  • Winery staff cannot serve anyone that appears intoxicated. In most cases, your entire group will be turned away even if only one person appears to have consumed over their limit. We ask everyone’s cooperation in keeping the event fun and safe for all attendees as well as winery personnel.

LARGE GROUP (20+) / FULL-SIZED VEHICLES / BUSES POLICY

Many of Lodi’s boutique winery tasting rooms are not equipped to handle multiple groups of 20+ consumers at any one point in time nor are equipped to accommodate parking for full-sized vehicles and/or buses. In order to be responsible hosts, give all attendees an experience worth remembering, and to provide a safe and sound environment, participating wineries have noted whether they will be accepting large groups (20+) / full-sized vehicles/buses at their location during the event weekend or whether they will be restricting visits from large groups (20+) / full-sized vehicles/buses to appointment-only times or to not at all. Please be sure to check the individual participating winery listings for notes on restrictions before planning your Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend itinerary.

TICKETS

When buying tickets at the door, each person in the party must be present. You must be prepared to show your ID in order to redeem an event ticket. Winery staff will need to check each person’s ID to confirm they are at least 21 years old before attaching your event wristband. This includes designated drivers who must be 21 and over to attend. Wristbands and glasses will not be handed out to one person buying for the group.

Tickets are good for Saturday and Sunday, February 10 & 11, 2018.

Your ticket purchase includes an event wine glass. If you are planning on wine tasting for both Saturday and Sunday, you will need to use your original event wine glass for both days.
Attendees of Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend will be given a wristband. You will need to wear your wristband through the duration of your wine tasting. You must keep your wristband on if you plan on returning for wine tasting on Sunday. Attendees with wristbands that appear to have been removed or cut will be turned away.

Absolutely no one under 21 years of age (including designated drivers, infants and/or young children) can attend Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend.

DESIGNATED DRIVERS

In order to maintain a safe and responsible weekend, we highly encourage the use of a designated driver. Designated drivers must be 21 years of age or older, no exceptions. There is no charge for designated drivers. No ticket is required for designated drivers. Designated drivers will receive a chocolate treat and may take part in any activity which does not include wine tasting. Consumers wearing the designated driver wristband may not sample from another guest’s glass, “have just a sip”, etc. Designated drivers will need to wear a designated driver wristband and must accompany a ticketed attendee. If you would like to sample wine, you will need to purchase an event ticket ($55 in advance; $65 at the door).

WINE GLASS POLICY

If a wine glass is lost, stolen or broken, a replacement glass can be purchased for $5.00.

A friendly reminder that even great wines should be enjoyed in moderation.
